Being a Facilitator at the Media-Makers Fellowship
We’re looking for facilitators to help execute our plans for the Media-Makers Fellowship.
Facilitators will work directly with our cohort of talented student journalists and co-facilitate parts of the program with members of Team Via News Didi and our Media Mentors.
Responsibilities:

Manage a team of 8-10 students
(This will include addressing their concerns and being their point of contact for the duration of the program)

Guide and mentor students to meet program requirements

Liaise between students and the Via News Didi team

Co-facilitate (online) Masterclasses and Coaching Calls
(Masterclasses will be held every Sunday from 11am to 1pm and Coaching Calls will be held on Tuesday/Wednesday from 5pm to 6pm/ 6pm to 7pm)

Attend a weekly check-in with Team Via News Didi

Use VND's rubric and guidelines to give feedback on student work

Fill trackers related to student progress and complete other program documentation
Duration of Work

15th April to 25th May.
We’re looking for someone with :
-
A degree in media studies/journalism or mass communication (preferred but not
-
mandatory)
-
Experience of working with children
-
Interest in media, writing, news and/or creating content!
The candidate should be able to join us for all 6 Masterclasses and Coaching Calls and
should be able to spare 4-6 hrs per week for Program tasks.
Facilitators will receive an honorarium of Rs.5000 as a token of our gratitude.
Being an Intern at the Media-Makers Fellowship
The internship opportunity is open only for past participants of the Media Makers Fellowship (previously known as the Re-Imagining Media Program).
Our interns :
-
lead the production of the weekly Fellowship zine,
-
help students navigate the many twists and turn of the fellowship
-
and facilitate sessions for students
Responsibilities
-
Program documentation including taking session pictures and recording videos of sessions
-
Conducting interviews with media mentors, both during and after the session
-
Conducting feedback interviews with participants
-
Updating student performance details in provided trackers
-
Creating content for social media and student learning
-
Writing, editing or designing the weekly fellowship zine
-
Program communication including sending emails and Whatsapp messages to program participants
-
Managing student team WhatsApp groups
-
Attending an Orientation/Training before the program begins
-
Attending all program sessions, including masterclasses and coaching calls
(Masterclasses will be held every Sunday from 11am to 1pm and Coaching Calls will be held on Tuesday/Wednesday from 5pm to 6pm/ 6pm to 7pm)

Guiding student participants towards successful program completion

Attending a Weekly Check-In with the team
Desired Skills and Interests
